This Privacy Policy applies to all data processing operations carried out by us, both as part of our core business and for the online media we operate.

Processing your data in the context of our core business

If you are our customer or business partner or are interested in our services, the nature, scope, and purpose of processing your data are determined by the contractual or pre-contractual relationship between us. In this sense, the data we process includes all data provided by you for the purpose of utilizing the contractual or pre-contractual services and that is needed to handle your inquiry or the contract concluded between us. Unless otherwise stated in the further sections of this Privacy Policy, the processing of your data as well as its disclosure to third parties is limited to the data required and appropriate for answering your inquiries and/or fulfilling the contract between you and us, safeguarding our rights, and complying with legal obligations. We will inform you in advance or during the data collection about which data is necessary. Insofar as we use third-party providers to deliver our services, the privacy notices of the respective third parties apply.

Affected Data:

– Inventory data (e.g. names, addresses)
– Payment data (e.g. bank account details, invoices)
– Contact data (e.g. e-mail address, telephone number, postal address)
– Contract data (e.g. subject matter of the contract, contract duration)

Affected Persons: Prospects, business and contractual partners

Purpose of Processing: Execution of contractual services, communication as well as responding to contact inquiries, administrative and organizational procedures

Legal Basis: Contract fulfillment and pre-contractual inquiries, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR; legal obligation, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR; legitimate interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR

Your Rights under the GDPR

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights, which you can assert at any time with the controller named in Section 1 of this Privacy Policy:

Right of Access: You have the right to request information from us as to whether and which data we process about you.

Right to Rectification: You have the right to request the correction of incorrect or the completion of incomplete data.

Right to Erasure: You have the right to request the deletion of your data.

Right to Restriction: In certain cases, you have the right to request that we process your data only to a limited extent.

Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we transfer your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format either to you or to another controller.

Right to Complain: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the supervisory authority of your habitual residence, your workplace, or our registered office.

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw the consent you have given for data processing at any time.

Right to Object

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Should you exercise your right to object, please state the reasons. We will then no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests and rights.

Independently of the above, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal data for advertising and data analysis purposes.

Please address your objection to the contact address of the controller provided above.

When do we delete your data?

We delete your data when we no longer need it or if you instruct us to do so. This means that – unless otherwise specified in the individual privacy notices in this Privacy Policy – we delete your data:

  • when the purpose of the data processing has ceased and therefore the legal basis specified in the individual privacy notices no longer exists, for example,
  • after the termination of the contractual or membership relationship between us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), or
  • after our legitimate interest in further processing or storing your data (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) has ceased,
  • if you exercise your right of withdrawal and no other legal basis for processing under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b-f GDPR applies,
  • if you exercise your right to object and no compelling legitimate grounds for deletion oppose it.

However, if we must retain (certain parts of) your data for other purposes – for example, due to tax retention periods (usually 6 years for business correspondence or 10 years for accounting records) or to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims arising from contractual relationships (up to four years) or if the data is needed to protect the rights of another natural or legal person – we will delete (that part of) your data only after these periods have expired. Until then, we will restrict the processing of this data solely to those purposes (fulfilling retention obligations).

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files consisting of a series of numbers and letters that are stored on the device you use. Cookies primarily serve to exchange information between the device you use and our website. This includes, among other things, language settings on a website, the login status, or the point at which a video was watched.

When you visit our websites, two types of cookies are used:

Temporary Cookies (Session Cookies): These store a so-called session ID that allows various requests from your browser to be associated with the same session. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

Persistent Cookies: Persistent cookies remain stored even after closing the browser. This allows our website to recognize your computer when you return. These cookies may store information such as language settings or login information. In addition, these cookies may document and save your browsing behavior. These data can be used for statistical, marketing, and personalization purposes.

In addition to the above categorization, cookies can also be distinguished based on their purpose:

Necessary Cookies: These are cookies that are essential for the operation of our website, such as storing logins or shopping carts for the duration of your session or cookies set for security reasons.

Statistics, Marketing, and Personalization Cookies: These cookies are used for analysis or measuring reach. Such “tracking” cookies can record, for example, information on search terms entered or the frequency of page views. In addition, the browsing behavior of an individual user (e.g. viewing certain content, using functions, etc.) can be stored in a user profile. Such profiles are used to display content to users that corresponds to their potential interests. Insofar as we use services that store cookies on your device for statistical, marketing, and personalization purposes, we will inform you separately in the following sections of our Privacy Policy or during the process of obtaining your consent.

Affected Data:

– Usage data (e.g. access times, clicked web pages)
– Communication data (e.g. information about the device used, IP address)

Affected Persons: Users of our online services

Purpose of Processing: Displaying our websites, ensuring the operation of our websites, improving our online presence, communication, and marketing

Legal Basis:
Legitimate interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR
If we do not obtain your consent for setting cookies, we rely on our legitimate interest in improving the quality and user-friendliness of our online presence, particularly the content and functions. You can object to the use of cookies set under our legitimate interest through your browser’s security settings. There, you can specify whether you wish to accept no cookies, only cookies upon request, or that cookies are deleted after closing your browser. If cookies for our website are disabled, not all functions of the website may be fully available.

Consent, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR
If we ask for your consent to set certain cookies on your device before you visit our website, and you agree, the legal basis for this is the consent you have given. We will inform you during the consent process about which specific cookies we set. If you do not give this consent, only the so-called technically necessary cookies, which are required for the proper operation of our websites and their display in your browser, will be set. If you have consented to the setting of cookies, you have the right to revoke this consent at any time.

We use a provider to host our websites on servers where our websites are stored and made available on the internet (hosting). In doing so, the provider may process all data transmitted via your browser that is generated during the use of our websites. This includes, in particular, your IP address, which the provider needs to deliver our online offer to your browser, as well as all inputs you make via our website. In addition, the provider we use may collect:

  • the website from which you may have reached our website
  • the pages or subpages you visit on our website

These data are stored as log files on our provider’s servers. This is necessary to ensure the stability and security of our website’s operation.

Online Advertising

We use services for displaying online advertising. Through the services we use, certain user data is collected via a cookie or pixel. This includes, in particular, information about which website you came from (so-called referrers), which pages of our website you accessed, how long you visited our pages, and which interactions you had there. Additionally, data on the browser, computer system, and device type you used is collected. Moreover, such services may also record demographic information, such as age or gender, as pseudonymous values. If you have consented to the collection of your location data, these may also be processed depending on the provider. To collect and store these data, the respective service places a cookie or a so-called tracking pixel on the device you use, which also collects your assigned IP address. However, this IP address is shortened through an IP-masking procedure so that it can no longer be associated with your visit to our website. In principle, no plain data such as names or e-mail addresses are stored by the respective service. This only occurs if you are a member of a social network that offers one of the services listed below and combines your profile with the aforementioned data.

The data collected by the service is analyzed to produce a report with statistical statements about the total number of visitors generated via the advertisement and the success of the advertising campaign. The reports include, among other things, the total number of users redirected to our website through our ads. The reports also contain information on the devices and browsers used by the users, the locations of the users, and the times at which the advertisement was clicked. However, the reports do not contain any information by which you could be personally identified as a user of our website.

Please note that depending on the location of the service provider, the data collected by the service may be transferred and processed outside the European Union. In this case, there is a risk that the level of data protection required by the GDPR is not maintained and that the enforcement of your rights may be hindered or only possible with difficulty.

Affected Data:

– Usage data (e.g. access times, clicked web pages)
– Communication data (e.g. information about the device used, IP address)

Affected Persons: Users of our online services

Purpose of Processing: Measuring reach, monitoring the success of campaigns, remarketing as well as interest- and behavior-based marketing

Legal Basis:
If we have asked for your consent before using the respective service, this is the legal basis, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Otherwise, we use the respective service based on our legitimate interest in directing traffic to our website, analyzing this traffic, and continuously improving the functionality, offerings, and user experience of our website, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

We use the following service providers for online advertising:

Google AdSense

Service provider: Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
European Branch: Google Dublin, Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland

Web Analytics and Statistics

To capture and statistically evaluate the visitor flows on our website, we use web analytics services. Such services collect data about the website from which you accessed our online presence (so-called referrers), which pages of our website you accessed, how long you visited our pages, and what interactions you had there. Additionally, data about the browser, computer system, and device type you used is collected. Moreover, such a service may also record demographic information, such as age or gender, as pseudonymous values. If you have consented to the collection of your location data, these may also be processed depending on the provider.

To capture and store these data, the web analytics service we use typically places a cookie on the device you use, which also collects your assigned IP address. However, this IP address is shortened via an IP-masking procedure so that it can no longer be associated with your visit to our website. In any case, no plain data such as names or e-mail addresses are stored. Neither we nor the service provider know the identity of the visitors to our website.

Please note that depending on the country where the below-mentioned service provider is located, the data collected by the service may be transferred and processed outside the European Union. In this case, there is a risk that the level of data protection required by the GDPR is not maintained and that the enforcement of your rights may be hindered or only possible with difficulty.

Affected Data:

– Usage data (e.g. access times, clicked web pages)
– Communication data (e.g. information about the device used, IP address)

Affected Persons: Users of our online services

Legal Basis:
If we have asked for your consent before using the respective service, this is the legal basis, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Otherwise, we use the respective service based on our legitimate interest in analyzing the visitor flows to our website to continuously improve the functionality, offerings, and user experience, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

We use the following web analytics services:

The Third-Party Plugins We Use

We have embedded plugins in the form of “social media buttons” provided by our service providers on our website. You can recognize which plugin belongs to which provider by the respective logo marking the plugin. We have disabled the social media plugins on our website by default so that data is not automatically transmitted to the provider when you visit our pages. For this purpose, we use the so-called Shariff solution. Only when you click on the “social media button” of the respective provider will the collection of information and its transmission to the provider be triggered. If you click one of these buttons, data may be sent to the operator of the social network even if you do not have an account there, or if you do have an account there but are not logged in at the time of your visit.

Please note that, depending on the country where the service provider is located, the data specified below may be transferred and processed on servers outside the European Union. In this case, there is a risk that the level of data protection required by the GDPR is not maintained and that the enforcement of your rights may be hindered or only possible with difficulty.

Affected Data:

– Usage data (e.g. access times, clicked web pages)
